FAQ

  • Are your emeralds certified?

Yes. Every emerald we offer is laboratory-certified, giving you a verified record of the stone's authenticity, origin, and quality grade. You'll know exactly what you're purchasing, no guesswork, no surprises.

Once your purchase is complete, your certification is mailed directly to you within 2 to 3 weeks. It's your permanent record, arriving ready to store alongside your stone.

Certification is one of the reasons we can stand behind every stone with confidence, and one of the reasons our buyers feel confident too.

  • Where do your emeralds come from?

All of our emeralds are ethically sourced directly from Colombia — the world's most respected source for fine emeralds. We have a personal relationship with our supplier, which means full transparency from mine to your hands.

  • Why not just buy a jewelry piece that already has an emerald in it?

Most people buy a jewelry piece with a stone already set. But here's what you're often getting when you buy a pre-set emerald piece: a stone chosen for how it looks in a setting, not for its quality, origin, or certification. Most retail jewelry stores don't disclose where their emeralds come from, what treatment they've had, or whether they're even natural.

When you start with the stone, you start with the truth. You choose a verified, Colombian-origin emerald with a certification that proves exactly what it is. Then you have it set exactly the way you want, the metal, the style, the piece that's actually yours.

It takes a few extra weeks. But what you end up with is a piece built around a stone of known quality, not a stone hidden inside a piece of unknown origin.

For collectors and anyone who cares about what they're actually wearing, that difference matters.

  • Can I see the stone before I buy?

Absolutely. We offer private showings by appointment in the Houston area. Just click "Reserve Your Private Showing" to get started.

  • If you only sell the stone, how can I have it set into a ring, necklace, or earrings?

Yes, and we'd love to help make that happen. While Eme Gems specializes in the stones themselves, we can connect you with a trusted jeweler who will set your emerald exactly the way you envision it. Think of us as your starting point, you choose the stone that speaks to you, and we'll point you in the right direction to bring the full piece to life.

Just mention it during our initial call or during your private showing, and we'll walk you through the options.

  • Do you offer payment plans or custom orders?

Reach out and let's talk. We work with buyers personally and are happy to discuss options that make sense for your situation.

  • How do I know this is legitimate?

Fair question and I love that you're asking it. As the face behind the brand, I'm Lisbet Newton, a Houston community builder and the founder behind Eme Gems. You can find me at Houston City Beat. I'm a real person with a real reputation, and that matters to me more than any sale.

  • What is your return policy?

All sales are final. Because each emerald is individually laboratory-certified and verified at the time of sale, we are unable to accept returns or exchanges once a purchase is complete. This policy exists to protect the integrity of every stone in our collection — and ultimately, to protect you as a buyer.

This is why we encourage you to take your time before purchasing. Ask questions. Request a private showing. Handle the stone. We want you to feel completely confident before you commit — because once it's yours, it's yours.
